abstract⁄This twoyear project is researching the web as a communications medium for better clientship in the construction industry. The Martin Centre is developing a web site that presents Cambridge University’s PS500 million 700m current building program to staff, students, alumni, and the citizens of Cambridge. Focussing on the University’s master plans for the Sidgwick and West Cambridge teaching campuses, the project is in collaboration with the University Estate Management and Building Service EMBS, General Board, West Cambridge Project Office, Sidgwick Site User Representatives, and the Press Office. The web site explains the University’s development proposals in manner suited to readers with no building industry knowledge and offers an opportunity for consultative feedback. It is publicly available on the web at http www⁄www.cam.ac.ukbuilding.
