article⁄This is not a Glitch: Algorithms and Anomalies in Google Architecture (2014)
abstract⁄This paper presents a body of research that explores the ways in which computer vision is being paired with big data collection engines to mapsimulate the physical environment in digital space. These algorithms are producing increasingly ubiquitous representations of 3 dimensional space which are accessed by governments, security agencies, private citizens and in the context of this paper, designers. Designers often accept these simulations as highly accurate despite understanding very little about how they are produced.
