article⁄Tartan Worlds: A Generative Symbol Grammar System (1992)
abstract⁄Tartan Worlds is a highly interactive, generative symbol grammar system that generates designs as two dimensional configurations of symbols on tartan grids. It operates with multiple graphical rule sets on multiple design worlds. Designers can operate directly on rules and worlds. In this chapter we will introduce the system Tartan Worlds as implemented on the Apple Macintosh.
