abstract⁄This paper will demonstrate the power of digital technology by encouraging architects to become more involved in the creation of small scale, adhoc and task specific software tools. Rather than appropriating code originally designed to solve the visualization problems faced in other fields, designers should instead develop their own programming culture. Through the acquisition of new skills and better collaborative exchanges architects can advance the unpredictable desires of the poetic imagination while addressing the practical challenges faced by craftsmen, engineers and project managers.
