abstract⁄This paper explores the development and application of informed multiagent systems IMAS as a means of programming spaces generated through the subtraction of built form at both urban and architectural scales. We argue that IMAS are distinct from multiagent systems MAS due to their adeptness at responding to and conditioning complex, datarich territories that require an open program while also benefiting from topdown constraints that delimit the system’s edges.
